Water Testing

Water leaks are not only a nuisance, but they can also cause substantial property damage, including:

  • Promotion of mold/mildew growth.
  • Moisture damage to interior finishes and furnishings.
  • Moisture damage to equipment.
  • Deterioration of wood framing systems, including the associated metal connectors/fasteners.
  • Corrosion of reinforcing steel in concrete structural members (columns, beams, footings, etc.).
  • Corrosion of reinforcing steel in concrete masonry unit (CMU) walls.
  • Corrosion of light-gauge metal framing/furring in walls and ceilings.

In multi-level buildings, water leaks on one level can also migrate down to lower levels, causing widespread water damages throughout multiple stacked units.

If you have a leak that you have not been able to solve, Epicenter Labs can assist you in finding the specific source of the leak using water leak pathway testing. In addition to such reactive testing, we can also help you proactively evaluate your building envelope to identify potential water leak locations through our water infiltration testing program.
